Possible Ati 4850/4870 Crash/Lockup fix
I spotted this off the Ati drivers, Microsoft has a special driver / hotfix for Vista and Xp that fixes issues with Ati 4850 & 4870.

that's pretty old actually. newer drivers are now available.
